About Hartzell & Whiteman
Hartzell & Whiteman, L.L.P. was formed in
1994. Our attorneys have over 55 years combined
experience in civil litigation. The bulk of our work
is in federal and state courts in North Carolina, but
we sometimes file cases in other jurisdictions with
the permission of the local court. The firm is experienced
in complex litigation, class actions, trials and appellate
practice, and is committed to providing high quality,
cost-effective advocacy. The majority of our cases are
for individual plaintiffs, and we strive to maintain
a strong commitment to client service and communication.
While client satisfaction and results drive our efforts,
we are equally committed to adhering to the highest
ethical and professional standards. We always try to
treat our colleagues, opposing parties and court personnel
with the courtesy and respect we hope to receive in
return.
Hartzell & Whiteman enjoys an "AV" rating,
which is the highest rating for competence and ethics
as determined by peer surveys conducted by Martindale-Hubbell.
In addition to our work in the areas of disability
benefits and insurance claims, we also handle business
litigation, securities claims and arbitrations, consumer
class actions, commercial disputes, intellectual property
claims and employment law.
